After an extensive search, Israeli forces have successfully retrieved the bodies of two soldiers who were killed in the Gaza Strip earlier this month during a botched undercover operation. The mission, however, did not come without complications, as Palestinian militant group Hamas allegedly kidnapped a third Israeli soldier and demanded a prisoner exchange in return for the return of the bodies. In response to this demand, Israeli officials stated that negotiations were underway but made it clear that no prisoners would be released before their identities and offenses are verified, as there are concerns that some could pose security threats upon their release.
